Job Description

Cheyenne Village, Inc. a local non-profit supporting adults with disabilities is seeking qualified applicants to work in their business office as the accounts payable staff. 

This position maintains the accounts payable system and personal needs accounts of the individuals receiving services and assists the Accountant with other accounting functions as needed.

Duties include review of invoices and purchase requests for proper authorizations, transaction coding to GL, issuing of checks, reconciliation of receipts to vendor statements and maintains petty cash accounts. Reconciles accounts payable to GL monthly.

Prepares bank deposits and maintains spreadsheet of all deposits and bank accounts.

Must be self-starter, detailed oriented and flexible to changing and competing demands.

Skills / Requirements

Minimum 2 years bookkeeping experience and general accounting practices in related field required.  Two years college level accounting preferred.  Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.  Knowledge of Quick Books, Blackbaud and Therap accounting software preferred.
