Job Description

Cheyenne Village, Inc., a local 501(c)(3), the largest and oldest provider of residential services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Colorado Springs is seeking qualified applicants for Direct Support Professional (DSP) positions.  As a DSP you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This position is responsible for Individual Residential Services & Support (IRSS), assuring the health, safety and welfare of person receiving services. Provides individual supports consistent with each person’s individual needs, preferences and values. Provides assistance and support to individuals receiving services to include implementation of service and support plan.   Supports and assists individuals in daily living skills, including personal hygiene, housekeeping, budgeting, and shopping for personal needs, social skills, recreation, and leisure interests.  Assures support is available to individuals with disabilities to participate in personal interests, community activities, and resources either provided directly or by friends, family, or other community members. Promotes individual choice in all activities, relationships, and services.

Physical demands would include frequent walking and standing at times. Exert force and/or lifts or carries objects up to 10 pounds constantly, 10-20 pounds frequently and 20-50 pounds occasionally.

The salary range is between $18.54 - $21.78 per hour.

Skills / Requirements

Experience in human services or related field preferred. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and e-mail.

Maintains acceptable criminal background and Department of Motor Vehicle checks. Maintain valid US driver's license.

Important Notes

Must be 18 years of age.  Must become CPR, First Aid and QMAP certified.  Certifications and training are paid for by Cheyenne Village, Inc.
