Job Description

Description for Individual Residential Services & Support

In 1967, with cooperation from The Resources Exchange and the Arc of the Pikes Peak Region, the Cheyenne Foundation was created. This organization was the first residential training center for adults with developmental disabilities in Colorado Springs. In March of 1971, the Board of Directors purchased the 16-acre McLaughlin Lodge in Manitou Springs Colorado to allow for expansion of the agency.  With this property, a pilot project was established to demonstrate that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) could live independently in cabins with 24/7 staff care.  Here, they developed activities of daily living and job training. On April 1, 1971, the Board of Directors changed the name to Cheyenne Village Inc. and became the first licensed provider approved service agency in the state of Colorado. Since that time, we have grown tremendously, serving individuals throughout El Paso County in various setting types, which include; Host Homes, independent apartment living, and nine staffed Cheyenne Village-owned homes. Our humble beginnings have evolved into one of the largest residential providers in Colorado Springs.

We are looking for qualified, hard-working applicants that are seeking a rewarding job opportunity and who are interested in supporting individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities in fulfilling their potential daily.
